I just noticed that WinZip is bundling the Google Toolbar and ICQ includes
an ICQ toolbar with every download of ICQ. I'm wondering what people
think about this kind of toolbar bundling - i.e., whether there is any
difference between WinZip bundling the Google toolbar and ICQ bundling an
ICQ toolbar vs. the adware bundling that a lot of the p2p fileshare
programs are doing and that everyone gets approached about. Is this a
more acceptable route to take to generate extra revenues? I'd like to
know what everyone thinks.

I think it sucks unless it's easily and obviously disable-able during
installation of the main programs. And of course, Winzip is shareware,
not freeware anyway.

At any rate, the best route is to disable toolbars in IE:

1. Go to Tools/Internet Options.../Advanced

2. Remove the checkmark by "Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart)"
