Hi, I am missing the "Run" option with my new computer
and Win XP Pro. I am used to using Win98se. I would like
to go to Boot.ini so I can eliminate the XP progressive
slide bar and watch the POST. Any help will be
appreciated. Thank you, Roger

Hi!
To get back the missing Run option try this:-

Right click the Start button and select Properties, then
Customize. Scroll down and put the check mark in the Show
Run entry. If you're using the new Start panel, its on the
Advanced tab.

Or check your settings here: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Value Name: NoRun
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)

The POST (Power On Self Test) on your computer is completely finished
and exited prior to any components of Windows XP even starting to
load.

So changing boot.ini cannot have any effect on the display of the POST
events from your computer.

Good luck
