Hi ,

I have a P4P800-MX ASUS motherboard with 2 hdd: 1 IDE (with WInXP) and a
SATA hdd (Maxtor - 80GB - for backup) .

The problem is that, besides the motherboard identify the SATA hdd
correctly, WinXP recognize it, but doesn´t attrib a drive letter to it .

In Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager window, the Maxtor SATA
hdd is there and WinXP says that it is working ok ! But it does not set a
"E:\" or "F:\" to the SATA hdd. Besides, it does not identify the correct
size and partitions, as the Bios motherboard do !

any help ????

thanks a lot !

Has the SATA hard drive been partitioned and formatted via
Disk Management?
