Winxp sp2 advanced startup options missing!!!!!!

I really hope someone can help me with this, I have Winxp sp2 and with the
latest updates,my problem is that as much as I press F8 during the startup
process I can't get ADVANCED STARTUP OPTIONS, I don't know how to fix this,
I do have a Norton GOBACK 2004 program that runs between BIOS and windows,I
also have the system configuration utility in selective startup mode( I don't
want all my software start with windows,that's anoying) just the minnimum
processes, please anyhelp I need to enter to Safe mode

Under the boot.ini tab of msconfig but a tick mark in the /Safeboot option.
