WinXP share folder with ICF

Please help me with this one, is there anyway we can see
other computers on the same workgroup (not domain) with
the Internet Connection Firewall enabled between WinXP
Home, and WinXP Pro?

The reason I want to have ICF enable while being able to
see other computer is that I don't want to disable both
computer's ICF to see each other everytime I want to
connect each other, and I want to have ICF protect my
network.

Thanks for any help,

Nope. ICF inhibits F&P sharing on your LAN.

If you get to the 'net with a DSL or cable modem, then I
suggest buying a router, since its built-in NAT makes a pretty
adequate inbound firewall. Disable ICF permanently, and
use a more flexible firewall such as ZoneAlarm; ZA lets you
define a Trusted Zone to allow F&P sharing between PCs that
you trust and to preclude sharing with the rest of the world,
and ZA is a good outbound firewall.

If you get to the 'net with Dial Up Networking and run ICS
over a LAN to share the DUN connection with other PCs, then
you can IIRC leave ICF enabled on the DUN connection, but
disable it for the LAN connections in each PC.

Thanks Bob, I will use zoneAlarm with my router, I feel
more secure with your advice and knowledge. Thanks again.
