WinXP recognize Linux or virus?

Z

zalek

On my machine I have WinXP, Linux Mandrake, Linux Suse and FreeBSD.
Suddnly new local disks appeared on my Windows Explorer. When I check
properties of those disks it shows:

used space: 0 bytes
free space: 0 bytes
capacity: 0 bytes
type: local disk
file system: RAW
From Partition Magic I see those are my Linux partitions.
How come those disks suddnly appeared?
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Zalek

Hi,

Assuming you are using Boot Magic since you have PM, I would speculate that
you recently added those volumes to the WinXP mbr entry. Since it can't read
the file system, that's why you see the odd reports of sizes. I'm not
familiar enough with the product to tell you how to correct it, I would
check with Symantec support.
