I have Win XP Pro PC logging into a Win2000 server running
AD Three of the pc's are taking anywhere from 2 to 4
minutes to login, I have checked the domain security
policies and found nothing out of the ordinary. Does
anyone know how to resolve these problems? Thanks in
advance for any help!

This won't help I don't have a problem logging on to the

NB,

A little bit more information might help. Good that you indicated that the
DC is running WIN2000. However, are we talking about a one Site situation
or multiple Sites. My guess would be that we are talking about a one Site
situation.

How are the WINXP Pro systems receiving their IP Addresses. Via DHCP?
Static ( aka manually entered )? If via DHCP, are they receiving the other
information with the IP Address, such as the domain name, the default
gateway, the DNS Server IP Address(es)?

I am trying to find out if they have the correct DNS information. All
WIN2000 / WINXP clients must point to the internal DNS Server. Please see
the following two MSKB Articles:

WIN2000 Clients
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;247811

WINXP Clients
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];314861

Is DNS configured properly?

HTH,

Cary
