WinXP pro workgroup roaming username

Hi,

A few days ago I asked a question about managing a system for a school and
got some great advices.

SteadyState was suggested,
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/sharedaccess/default.mspx
As I see it, I need to run the software on all the machine. I would turn the
'Disk protection' to reset all the information on a regular basis, (this
option is offered and is great).

So now all I need is to manage the kids username and password, (we would
like them to be able to use any machine in the workgroup).

We have about 30 computers in the lab for about 700 children, (all the
machines are XP pro).
All the computers are part of the same workgroup.

Where can I find a tutorial to create a new user group that would allow the
kid to log on to any computer on the workgroup and retrieve their profile?
Or do I need a Server to handle this?

Looking at my own computers at home, I can see that both my machines are
part of the same workgroup but I cannot logon from machine A with user B for
example.

How can I manage roaming users in windows XP.

Thanks

Simon

You need a server & a domain model, not a workgroup, to do this. Otherwise,
there's no centralized security model, which is what you'd need....
