My WinXP Pro 2.0Ghz 40GB system is really beginning to slow down on the launch of Win Explorer and other general searches. It works fine on relaunching of an application within a boot-reboot cycle. I have noticed that it takes about 7-10 seconds for Win Explorer to find drive C, its folders/subfolders etc. [Drive C is about 35GB used] I've defrag'd using DiskKeeper Lite and that helps a little. I really don't want to reload anything, such as WinXP obviously. WinXP Pro has all of Microsoft's updates, IE updates, MS Office updates, etc. etc. System is stable, but slow at times and those times are very much related to directory searches
What suggestions/utilities are available
TIA
