Winxp Pro-can't install programs, access E-mail and slow

Greetings,
I have a 1.5 Gig P4 Intel w/512 MB of ram(Sony Vaio) and a 60 Ghz hard drive
on Verizon DSL. It is networked at home. The 2nd computer works great. When
I select Outlook it will not open fully and hang. It will stay in
send/receive forever and finally say at the top bar "not
responding".Internet explorer 6.0 is slow and buggy and will frequently
lockup. I cannot access my other software nor will it let me install any.
Tried restore to no avail. It seems like it happened overnight when it went
buggy. Tried MS config on it and deselected everything to no avail (did not
mess with boot ini). Tried Winxp Pro Repair and reinstalling on top without
luck. Unable to do a spyware on it as it cannot open it. Any ideas?

contact sony tech support, your pc may have failing hard drive or ram or cpu or mobo etc....

failing parts can cause issues like you describe, especially if they are data storage/cpu related hardware and especially the motherboard as its the central nervous system for your whole p.c

eliminate the hardware angle next as you can't even re-install fresh without the same problems which typically means something hardware related is going south
