Why can I not delete this, not in Safe mode either within windows xp.?

Under Applications, I have on my partitioned F drive, a folder named
"Renamed cdO" with
a number of files under it.

Deleting the individual folders first does not work either.

I have tried to delete it via a Command prompt and it still does not work.

Any idea what this is?

Hi

Try renaming the folder from a command prompt and then deleting it.

I tried renaming it, do not recall whether from a command prompt though, and
it still did not work.

Should I do it from Safe mode and then command prompt?

I tried deleting it in Safe mode windows and could not delete it there.

Hi

Yes, try via Safe Mode. Do you know which program created the folder?

No, I think I created the folder myself a long time ago before I
re-installed windows xp.

I tried now again in Safe mode. Did not work. I renamed the folder, then
could get to the folder and within it are more directories/folders.

But I could never get to delete them. When I typed "del folder name" it said
it could not find them. Even though I stared at these folders just a few
lines above. This is in Safe mode and Command prompt.

Any other ideas how to delete them?

delete The Files in each Subfolder
Then Delete the Subfolder
Then delete The folder U are trying to Get rid of..

This Happens to me all the time
For some Reason most of The time I cannot Delete a Folder Till I Empty
it. and Non of The Files or Folders Are READ ONLY

The above is my Workaround
if your Drive is a Fat 32 partition you could use a win/98 or me boot
disk to Delete the Folder

When you say that it did not work, what do you mean? Did it just do
nothing? Was there an error message? (eg Permission Deniad"?

Cheers,

Cliff

It says: "F:\OLD Access denied"

I can try it with any file within OLD and it gives me the same message

Tried that too earlier. Did not work "access denied" in Safe mode or from
CMD and then Del
