winword opening

When I click on a document, or try to paste into winword
it takes an extremely long time. I have just gotten a new
computer and installed Office 2003 on it. This didn't
happen on my old computer.

Is there some setting, or is the Antivirus and Firewall
scrutinizing what is coming into Winword? It didn't do
this on my old computer with the same Antivirus and
Firewall.

Do you have Norton AV? Uncheck its Office Plug-in.
