Don't even THINK of opening a Word document directly from a floppy. Instead,
copy it to the HD first, then open. Save it back to the HD and copy back to
the floppy if needed.

Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the
most certain method of ensuring document corruption. Copy to the hard disc
and work on the document from there.
In this case it appears the document is corrupt and Word is trying to use
that particular converter to open it.
