When ever I run the MSft Antispyware it stops responding
when it scans something called WinTools in the registry.
About a minute after it stops responding, my system tells
me that I'm low on virtual memory.

Actual location of program freezing is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Uninstall\WinTools

Ro,

If WinTools is listed in Add/Remove Programs suggest you first uninstall
it from there. Then boot to Safe Mode, and run MSAS.
Please post back with your result.

Win Tools or wtoolsa.exe is a registered secuirty risk,
and as stated can be removed thru add/remove programs, if
that fails, reboot into safe mode and run the scan.
