At logon, I get an error window popping up 'cannot find winsock2.2.exe' Is
this important, or how do I stop it from popping up?

Symantec does not find the spybot worm, how do I get the popup to stop at

Find any reference to Winsock2.2.exe on your machine and delete it.

Like here
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or here
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Find any reference to Winsock2.2.exe in the registry and delete it.

Like here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or here
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
