winsock2.2.exe is missing!!!

Everytime I boot now it says that it can't find the path to winsock2.2.exe.
After getting a worm, Norton Anti-Virus said it was infected, so after I could'nt repair it - Norton told me to delete it!!! Now that's its gone I get a warning when I boot up. How do I stop this? Can I live without this winsock2.2.exe??? Thanx for any info - Jorden

Install xp cd,exit the info page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:
Sfc /Scannow When the graph is thru type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,
then type:EXIT Restart computer,remove xp cd.

Hi Jorden,

You don't want it back. Run all of the cleaners here and don't depend on
Norton alone.
