I ran into this error I am having fits trying to fix the problem.
WINS could not start due to a missing or corrupt database.Restore the database using WINS Manager (or winscl.exe found in the Windows 2000 Resource Kit) and restart WINS. If WINS still does not start, begin with a fresh copy of the database.
My IS administrator tried to run the winscl.exe like the message said, but he could not figure out how to get it to restore the database. I also deleted the files in the WINS folder and made sure the db and log files did not exist. This did not work so I also went an uninstalled the Networking Services component and reinstalled it. After trying this it still did not work. Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this error? Anybody's help is greatly appreciated.
