WINS client and WAN miniport ??

I recently posted a question about possibly having the
blaster worm because of a several reasons including that
I can't view any windows update web pages, I can't
install anti-virus software or even open or uninstall it,
and several other problems. I was looking through my
files trying to find a problem and in my system services
i saw a few things that are running that were
from "unknown" manufacturer. These were "WAN miniport
(ATW) service" and "WINS Client". What are these???

They are all part of your network services. The Wan
Miniport are the drivers for your Wireless Network card
(Intel I believe) The other two are part of the window
network services and configurations.
