Winrar Question--Opening multiple files

A

asdf

let say i have several rar files in the folder:

file1.part1.
file1.part2
file1.part3
file2.part1
file2.part2
file2.part3

instead of unraring file1 and then file2 individually
can i somehow issue a command for winrar to unrar
all the files in the folder at once. Because otherwise
if i have many files to unrar it takes a long time to do
them individually.

thank you very much

I use Win Rar and what you have are multipart files. When you go to
extract File 1.part 1, it will find and combine and extract the other
parts of the archive automatically.
Hope this helps.

As far as I know you can only do one set at a time. Ex. file1.part1
then file1.part2 then file1.part3 in that sequence. I would suggest
that you contact the support forums for WinRar.

Yes you can........

Easiest way I find is to hold the <ctrl> key down while highlighting
(clicking) only the "first" rar (part01 or .rar) of the parts & continue
marking all the remaining seperate ones also.....Hit extract to, point
to your folder and they will all extract at the same time...........
Bare in mind also that if you have lets say one the same multiparted
file you only have to highlight the first one (part01 or .rar) to
extract......There is NO need for all of them to be
highlighted...........

YES!!!!
that did it.
but still there is no way of winrar extract all the multiparts in the
specified folder--i.e. point winrar to a folder and it would extract all
the multiparts in it??

thank you so much

Good, glad to hear it......Sorry I did not see your issue
earlier........ ;0)

When you say "all" I'm not sure what ya mean though?

What I suggested for you to do "does" exactly that.......WinRAR "knows"
what parts are connected when "only" highlighting that "one"
RAR.......The reason I say part01 & .rar is that .part01 is a later
version enhancement of the file naming scheme whereas .rar is an older
version scheme........Now older versions of WinRAR only actually allowed
identification of up to .rar35 I believe, anything after that was just a
windows icon.......
thank you so much

You're very welcome..........

your method increases my productivity tenfold but i still have
to go through the folder containing the multipart files and select
all the .rar or part1 files. Is there a way of removing even this step
and just telling winrar which folder contains all the multipart files
and let it figure out which files it needs to use to extract the rest.

thank you

Open up WinRAR itself and do it from within its own environment just
navigate to the folder where all the R's are, it will organize it
perfectly for ease of vision & just hit the "extract to" button at the
top after highlighting.....The tree will popup for "easy"
navigation.........I think this may help tenfold, tis what I do when I
have more that one item multi R'd.........I didn't realize you were
doing it from a folder....OY VEY! That's rough........... ;0)

BTW: As far as some kind of script to run if that's what you are looking
for, I have no idea.....I don't think it's capable of just doing it on
it's own......Come on now, ya gotta do some work...... ;0)

Try it this way. Put all of your rar's in one folder, all of the parts
for the different rar's. Then hold down the ctrl key and then
highlight all of the part1's that you have
and hit extract, and I think that this will work the way you want it
to. Basically I think that it will do file one, then file two etc.
Let me know if it works for you.
