winnt/system32.net.exe pop-up windows problem

I'm running win2000 server edition with a domain controller and a terminal
server. When I log onto the dc as admin i get several pop up windows titled
winnt/system32.net.exe, they pop up and then disappear. After this accurse
i lose data connection between pervasive sql server on the dc and a terminal
server program. Thinking it could be a virus i ran the anti-virus program
but it didn't find anything.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
