Greetings --
There is no such file (as you've spelt it) in a normal Win2K
installation. There should be a "win.ini" in the C:\Winnt folder to
provide legacy support for 16-bit apps, but, under most circumstances,
it's absence shouldn't have much affect. Perhaps if you were to
better describe the precise symptoms of your problem(s) and the exact
sequence of events leading up to the onset, someone could provide you
more specific help.
In the meantime, especially if you've correctly spelt the file
name reported as missing, I strongly suggest that you obtain, install,
and use a good anti-virus application. You should also check for
adware/spyware by using Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot
Search & Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org/. Both have free
versions.
