winmail.dat file in forwarded message with attachment

Guest

I am using outlook 2003 and have just started having this problem. When I
forward a message and include an attachment 9in this case a word doc) some
people are receiving a winmail.dat file instead of my attachment. I have
tried sending as RTF, HTML and plain text but the same thing happens.

Here is the really weird part. Everyone I am forwarding the message to is on
Exchange server (just like me!) and using outlook as their email program. The
only difference is some are using Outlook 2000/02 while others have Outlook
2003.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Have a word with your Exchange Server administrator; Exchange Server can be
set to send everything in Rich Text Format and doing so effectively disables
your control over the message format.
