WinMail Addressbook is terribly slow ?!?!

I moved from WinXp to Vista + Mail.

THe address book is so incredibly slow - it freezes for 5 seconds before
each new email is open, or I open the dialog to pick a contact.

It seems that this idiotic software is loading whole address book each time
I need it. Is there a way to make it present in memory all time when WinMail
is open so that it can be accessed instantly ??

I got 960 contacts, it all worked fine at Win XP + OE 6.

Tools-Options-Send- uncheck Autocomplete when composing E-mail addresses...

ok, It made the emails open faster, but after I hit the dialog box to choose
contacts there is still the 5 sec freeze before it actually opens and I can
choose a contact.

Also it sux ti have the completion turned off - anyone knows how to keep the
address book loaded in memory all time ???
