Winlogin.exe file missing - Help

I was hit by a virus. After eradicating virus, computer
on boot-up says it cannot find the winlogin.exe file.
This seems to be the only file missing. Is it necessary
to do a system restore to restore this file, or can I
simply copy this winlogin.exe file from my other computer
and paste in the same directory.

Using XP Home.

Firstly, I think you mean "winlogon.exe". It's in c:\windows\system32
If it was me I would get the file from your other PC and paste it
as you planned.
