WinFast TV Tuner Software problem

Hello,
I’ve recently update to Windows XP SP2 and install my WinFast PVR
software for viewing TV on my PC and it won’t work correctly. I’ve
updated the drivers for the TV tuner card and dled the
software(WinFast PVR) from Leadteck. The TV show will appear in my
screen yet I can’t channel the channel, hear any audio and get the
message "This program is not responding. Close now"

Everything worked fine prior to the update to XP SP2 so I know that
has to be the problem. I’ve contacted Leadteck Support via email now
waiting for a reply. anyone here had a similar problem?

Forget Leadtech support. I had the same problem and after several emails
back and forth, they finally told me there is a driver conflict (duh!) and
that I would need to wipe my computer, reinstall XP Pro, and then keep
reinstalling apps until I found the problem. Although it probably is a
driver problem, I can't find any conflicts noted in Device Manager.

I'm using the WinFast card to capture video from my VHS, so I can transfer
it to DVD, but whenever I tried to capture something, whether using WinFast
software, or Nero or Ulead software, the apps would crash, so the problem is
most likely in the drivers and not the WinFast app itself. I also tried
moving the WinFast card to a different slot, reinstalling software, checking
for updated drivers, etc - nothing stopped the crashes.

In any case, I was fortunate enough to have Win2K loaded on my 2nd hard
drive, in dual boot configuration. So I loaded the WinFast apps in W2K and
everything works fine. This probably won't help you, but you might be
interested in the info.

If anyone figures out which driver is causing the crashes I'm very
intersted, as it would be nice to be able to capture video without rebooting
to another OS.

Thanks for the reply shinken1
I got it to work by putting a CD in the CD-ROM drive. It sounds weird
it would work but so far so good. This isn’t a permanent solution yet
until Leadtek updates the software to not be in conflict with XP SP2
that is what I will have to do.
