WindowsXP Security Update

I have a problem with WindowsXP Security Update 821557.
I ran the update, installed it, but next day the "ready to
be installed" box came up again with the same number. So I
repeated the process but the following day the same thing.

On each occasion the relevant dialog boxes indicated that
downloading and installation was taking place.

I have checked for viruses, bots, etc but nothing shows up.

Be grateful for any suggestions. John.

I am having same problem "SECURITY UPDATE FOR MICROSOFT
WINDOWS (819696). Comes up every day. ???????

directx 9.0 problems look at this

DirectX Could Enable System Compromise (819696)

nothin to worry about if you have directx 9.0 this is bug
fixes the error in machine
better go to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
dowload the patch of directx 9.0b of 923kb in szie

or visit www.microsoft.com/directx and download 9.0b
version called dxwebsetup isse is solved
