WINDOWSXP CRASH -HELP-

I was uninstalling Windows new "service pak" and I accidentally stopped the
uninstall. I rebooted the PC and everything went awry. All startup Drivers
were not being recongnized. I couldn't log on. I couldn't even get a startup
screen. I called the Computer Maker (Hewlett Packard) and they were able to
get my workstation working with the F8 then the F10 commands. However when I
got back to Windos XP startup screen everything had changed. It look as
though their embetted recovery option reinstalled everything from scratch. In
other words I have all the orignal drivers, and not much of anything else. It
look as though I just bought it. I lost all email, user accounts, files, all
media players/ jpegs. Everythong seems scrambled. I tried to perform a system
restore but the only restore date I recieved was todays. I couldn't perform
the function for an earlier date. NO other dates in the system restore option
was highligted or "bold" so to speak. Question is there anything I can do to
restore the data other than perform system restore. Alot of my old data is
still on the PC and when I check to see how much space is being used I see
the 80 Gig that was used before the crash is still being used however I
can't find 90% of it. ? I'm baffled and I desperately need help. Can anyone
out there help me .
