The Windows Update "Security Update for Windows XP (KB913446)" keeps

Thanks.

Try again another day. I had repeated failures of KB 913446 during the
download {not installation}.

Download the update directly, then install it.
(It failed to install on my PC also, but this alternative succeeds)

That's strange - 'Your computer is set to receive notifications when new
updates are available'
Well so much for having that set-up - I haven't had any notification from
MS!!!
I should get a little yellow shield on the task bar.
So I have done a manual search and KB913446 is there with three or four
others.
And now the yellow shield is there - now you don't see me then you do.???
Lets give it a go.
I wonder if it will load with the others?

Hello Carey
It was the one out of the five that failed - no big surprise then.
So where would you say I should save this download, as it would as a rule be
put in the Add/remove.
When I rebooted as requested, I found I had been disconnected from I.E. and
O.E.
It has just taken me 10 mins to reconnect

Try again. It's been fixed, supposedly.

PS: Why have you posted this in numerous MS newsgroups but not in
microsoft.public.windowsupdate? If you must make identical posts to
multiple newsgroups, please cross-post one (1) message to all of them.
Thank you.
