WindowsUpdate Folder corrupted

I have been unable to successfully download outstanding Windows updates for
a couple of weeks, receiving error 0x80070052. In checking the diagnostic
information associated with that error, I find I can not even check the
contents of my WindowsUpdate folder. Although it is displayed in the
directory tree, and is in the correct location in the c:\Program Files
folder, I can not view whatever is in the windowsUpdate Folder. When I
click on that particular folder: "Drive C is not formatted. Do you want to
format it now?" I can view the contents of all other folders without a
problem.

I can not view any files in the directory from the command line [Files not
found] nor delete files [Data Error (CRC)].

I would appreciate any assistance.

Try booting in the Safe Mode and then try viewing/deleteing.

Thanks - I should have indicated that I'd tried that with the same results.
I am continuing to get the automatic notification of updates and they seem
to install properly which seems odd.

However, the second link you sent did the trick. Simply changing the custom
level of internet security back to default (medium) cleared the error with
the Windows Update page and I can now view the contents of the WindowsUpdate
folder. Thanks!

That's why there was more than one link. Who would know what might fix your
problem?

You're welcome! ;-)
