i now have windows xp home on my desktop, but am going to purchase a wireless
notebook, and a tech told me to get the windows xp pro? why the difference

You would have to ask the tech why he suggested Pro.
Windows XP Home and Pro are identical in performance and stability

I am not familiar with that brand.
Check their website and see if they have forums or message boards.
If they do, you may find others that can give the information.

Well i would like to ask the tech, but unfortunatly i will never get the same

Then research the link in my other post along with determining your specific
needs..
For example if you will need to have the laptop join a domain, you would
need Pro since Home can not join a domain
Generally Windows XP Home works very well for most home users.
