Any help with my problem would be appreciated

When I start windows xp and sign on I get a pop up box
that says
WINDOWS ERROR
and inside the box it says
General Protection Fault Error
Please delete file

That's gotta be a virus or some sorta scumware.

The language in
the dialog box sounds fake, like it
was composed by someone whose native
language is not English.

XP would NEVER ask you to "delete a file".

Get an antivirus and/or scumware removal tool, and quick.

OK thanks I'll give it a shot
 
Are you able to get past this error box and get into
windows?? if yes, then run msconfig and see what's
loading into memory on boot, if something doesn't look
right, post back here for advice.
