Can any one give me instructions on how to get to the ms
dos prompt in windows xp. We need to format some floppys
and cannot get to dos.

WINDOWS +E then right click on the floppy drive ( A: or B: ) and select
FORMAT in the context menu.

OR

start->run.
cmd [ENTER]

Click the Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt.

But, I'd just use Windows Explorer. Mount the floppy drive (with the
floppy in it), right click and format.
