I have a laptop with windows xp home install.

But when i install it did not ask for a keycode.

I got it send from dell for free.

Under my laptop there is a keycode for windows xp home so is this keycode pointless.

XP won`t ask for the key as it is preinstalled By Dell-hell;)

Is that bad then.

So why give me a keycode for windows xp home. Plus what a daft place to put my keycode under the laptop.

No it ain`t a bad thing, the key is there in case you have to contact Dell, they normaly ask for the key before they help you with any problem, so don`t worry about it.;)
 
The key is also there in case you have to re-install XP. And being stuck firmly to the laptop, you shouldnt lose it (unless you use your laptop of course!).
