Hi,

Try clearing your temporary internet files as well as system and user
defined temp folders, they are probably full-to-overflowing and have several
corrupt files.

i have cleaned temp int. files, but what about the others..my comp is totaly
new, i cant see the differnce on the dates with the other files in such temp
folders...
i am afraid i might delete something important.

Rick,

I thought I wouls set up a .bat file to do the same.

But I found there is no directory under my username (Trevor) as described
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\local settings\temp

There is a
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\Temp

Is this the one?

Hi,

Do you have folder options set to see hidden and system files? Go to the
Control Panel/Folder Options, and on the View tab, set the options so you
can see hidden and system files. Specifically:

Enable (check) "Display the contents of system folders"
Enable (check) "Show hidden files and folders"
Disable (uncheck): "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)"

I also recommend that you disable (uncheck) "hide extensions for known file
types".

Thanks Rick and David.

I have found the folder, but there is also a folder named
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Should this be cleared also? (There is plenty of stuff in here which looks
like they should be deleted)

Should be - no. Can be - yes.

Internet Options - General - Delete Files - tick the box Offline Content else IE will only delete files it put there.
