I have a fairly new computer running xp home and I am
having some problems. Eveytime I boot up the display
mode goes to 640x480 so I have to reset it to 800x600.
AND - when I open outlook, my display blinks black, then
goes back to 640x480 then blinks black and then goes to
800x600 which is where I DO want the display to be. This
blinking and changes to my display happen in rapid
succession. AND - when I am writing an e-mail, I will be
typing merrily along and suddenly my cursor disappears.
I have to click my mouse where the cursor was to make it
come back. Can anyone help me?!?!?!?!? I also own Group
Mail Pro (which is a group mailing program) which worked
perfectly on my old computer running windows 98 but will
only send to the first e-mail address and then stops. I
suspect it has something to do with this "blinking"
problem. PLEASE - someone help me! Thank you SO MUCH.

I would start with the video card. The mouse not moving
could be caused by memory. Is the video cards built into
the motherboard or an expansion card? IS this a home
built computer or Dell, IBM, etc? Manufactured computers
have diagnostic CD's that ususally troubleshoot problems
like this that work very well. Is there anything showing
up in device manager that's not been installed correctly?

It's not that the mouse is not moving - it's that the
cursor disappears while I am typing an e-mail. My
computer is a Dell that I bought reconditioned. I have
not found anything improperly installed and so far the
diagnostics I have been doing shows nothing and does not
make it work any better. Any other ideas?
THANKS!!
