Good afternoon,

Well, it didn't take long for the much awaited Windows Validation tool to be
rendered useless.

For all of those who have, ahem, pre-loaded Windows XP on their system, the
new Windows Validation tool was supposed to prevent "non-authorised" copies
of XP from receiving updates.

Well, the Validation tool can be de-activated very easily.

1) Open Internet Explorer
2) Click on Tools then Internet Tools
3) Click on Programs
4) Click on Manage Add-Ins
5) Highlight the Windows Validation Tool add-in and click disable
6) Close Internet Explorer and re-open it

That's it! - you can now receive your updates.

Why did Microsoft make this so easy?

Just thought you should know this.

Your premise is flawed!

When your visit the Windows Update web site, you will only need to
validate one time. Afterward, it stores a special download key on your
PC for future use. Thereafter, you can disable the validation activeX
since it is no longer required when visiting the Windows Update web site.

However, validation will still be required when downloading certain
programs which require validation. If you disable the activeX control,
you'll be unable to do so until your re-enable or reinstall the validation
activeX control.

Now why would you do this the hard way when you can do this. And yes I
received all optional and security updates, so Carey can stuff where you know
where.

Before pressing 'Custom' or 'Express' buttons paste this text to the address
bar and press enter:

javascript:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all')

It turns off the trigger for the key check.

The hack has been hacked. Please install the WGA. If you need help:

The Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation check process
does not complete when you try to validate your copy of Windows XP
or Windows 2000 Professional
