Windows XP USER maintenance

I had to restore the system from the rescue discs after a fatal crash. My
User names were not prompted and I had to add my user name via the control
panel. This seemed to work but now I have two sets of user local directories
, one in the original nam,e and one in the orinal name.computer name. It is
the latter that is accesssed when I log on. I have moved my key folders
content from the old to the new but how do I eliminate the old set? Explorer
will not let me delete the pld user name directory and its subdirectories.

Thanks, I will read up on this, but I have abother critical concern, when I
try to run Autoroute 2005, which was part of my OEM setup, I now get "This
action is valid only for products that are currently installed". It was
installed and I have no installation discs to reinstall it - how do I get it
from the wrong user directory to the right one? i am reluctant to delete
anything until all the OEM applications are working again.
