I recently got a new hard drive and a new copy of Windows XP, and I
installed it into my current system, and I am getting errors
constantly.

To start, I had to install XP three times before I could get it as
stable as it is, and I many programs that I'm running are giving system
exception errors, and/or I am unable to install programs at all without
being told that the files are corrupt (even when they aren't.)

My important hardware is this:
Athlon xp2800+
Asus A7V8X-X
Nvidia MX440

I had a soundblaster live 5.1, but I took that out and I'm using the
motherboard sound, now. So that wasn't the problem. I replace my fans
and my processor heatsink, and I'm fine tempature-wise (around 50
degrees).

Really, I just can't think of what else to do. Any ideas?

Bad memory can often cause stuff like this.

A couple of months ago I flashed my BIOS, went back in to set everything up
right and forgot my new memory I picked up lately was rated for CAS2.5 - not
2.0 like the stuff before. Took me 3 hours of scratching my head to realise
why apps were falling over the system was blue screening, 8-) Must be
getting on in years.

Good pick up, guys. Some of the ram is definitely bad... now, just to
figure out which one. Hopefully this fixes it. Thanks for your help.
