Windows XP unexpected Logout

I am running Windows XP home edition (SP1, waiting on
media from MS for SP2...too slow of a link to download).
I have a login/profile for every member of the
household. This morning, regardless of which login is
selected, the process starts, breifly shows the users
wallpaper, then proceeds to save session information and
logout. I have tried the different safe modes, but have
the same issue there (starts the login process, then
quickly logs out and returns me to the login screen). I
can't get past this point to even try any user
maintenance. Any advice?

I reinstalled XP and it fixed the problem. Thanks anyway.
