I have a new laptop with XP Home edition and several stan alone PC's with
2000 Pro. I have a ethernet router and a wireless router connected
together. I can access my ISP through any system. I can see my xp from the
pc's but cannot access it. I cannot see the PC's from laptop nor access the
network. I get the same mesage about not being setup. I can conect with the
wireless and ethernet, but cannot setup a file/print sharing. Any ideas?

What "same message about not being setup"?

Things to do and check:

1. On all computers, for ease of use make sure they are in the same
Workgroup.

2. All computers should have unique computer names. No computer name
should be the same as a user account. IOW, if you have a user account
"DONK", don't have a computer named "DONK".

3. Create identical user accounts/passwords on all machines.

4. Share out the resources you want on all machines, making sure
permissions are set properly.

5. On all firewalls, put the Local Area Network (lan) IP range in
Exceptions (or whatever your firewall software calls it) as Trusted.
Your range will start with the router and look something like
192.168.1.0-192.168.1.254. Of course the exact IP range depends on what
subnet you really have.

Try those things and if you need more help, post back with what you've
done and results.

I've written a web site that should help you get everything working:
