The one problem we are experiencing with our new system
concerns the "date". Due to the large volume of work
that passes through our department, we start generating
our paperwork in advance. When we change the date at our
desktop, it is automatically refreshed every minute or
so. Our temporary solution was to change our date/time
to "Fiji" time (don't laugh!), which allowed us to print
paperwork with the next days date. Now that today is
Friday, I am unable to adjust the date to Monday.

We are on a 2003 SBS Domain

Any assistance is greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
James

Why does preparation of paperwork for future billing or whatever require you
to change the date on your PC?

Due to the security systems used in Windows Server 2003 (and its
derivatives) you should not be tempted to change the system time forward or
back in a production environment.

desktops, member in a 200x domain, sync their time with the time server in
the domain, which is normally a domain controller running the w32time
service.
domain controllers run Active Directory and IIRC they don't respond to
kindly to time changes into the past, due to all AD updates being
timestamped (among others) and such a change back would 'throw' the domain
controller's logic as far as the updates logic is concerned. it would also
have an impact on the kerberos workstation authentication tickets granted to
the desktops to be able to work in the domain.
Also potential replication traffic between domain controllers could go
south, to name but a few things.
not sure how to correct this.
