Windows XP Theme keeps changing

Hi I just brought a Dell 9150 XP Home. The Windows Theme that I want is
the Classic view. When I shut off the computer and start it back up
again, it goes back to the XP windows Theme View. I spoke to Dell
tech. They don't know whats happening. I Think theirs a bug in the
system.
The Computer is brand new, never hooked up to the internet yet. This is
the second one that they sent me..
Does anyone know about this problem? I was working with Dell support
for about three hours trying to fix this..

Thanks..

Workaround: Turn off the Themes service. Type SERVICES.MSC in Start, Run.
Double-click Themes service and set it to Disabled.

Maybe these will work: Control Panel - Display - Themes and Appearances tabs
- set both to Classic - Apply. Also R-click Start - Properties - Classic -
Apply...
Hope this works on Your Dell - does on mine..

Hi I tried them all, No good.. The only way is to shut the theme's off
all together. But thats bad if you have Multi users. I think its a
Glitch in the Software. I have four HP's that work find and the way I
want it too.. The dell just won't work.. I'm Sending it back to them..
They can't figure it out either.. Then they wanted to switch me to
their Software dept. For which I would have to pay them to find out
whats wrong.. I've pass on that. Its cheaper If i send it back..
Now I'm looking for another HP..

Wow, that's strange. Sorry. One last suggestion before you give up on the
Dell.. Go to the Dell community forums/groups and seek help there.. Like
this, it's a users forum with many Dell "MVP's" who just might have your
answer....
