Windows XP System 32 Problem

When I start or reboot the computer the System 32 folder opens on the desktop
and says that the files are hidden. Is there any way that I can have that
folder not open when the machine is rebooted? It does it every time the
machine starts up. Is there a bigger problem that I need to deal with.
Thanks for the help
