Windows XP Split Screen...

Trying to set up dual monitors... Chose split screen in the video card
settings, which did not activate my second monitor. But rather, split
my desktop, removed all desktop icons, and the Start/task bar. Windows
key does not bring up the start menu to reverse the settings. Right
clicking does show up, choose properties and the window does not show
on the screen to attempt to attach the second monitor.

Any ideas how to get back to normal....Please help...

I will suggest you to Login in Safe Mode and uninstall one of your second
display card drivers that you install to use with dual monitor. Then restart
and login in normal mode of windows and see if it helps you.

To Login in to Safe Mode. Turn on your PC and try pressing F8 key after the
first POST screen to bring up the Boot Menu. Here press enter on Safe Mode.
