Windows XP SP3?

Yesterday, I contacted Microsoft "technical service." I called attention
to a situation that the technician duplicated on his machine. After 1/2
hour of waiting on the telephone while he conferred with more
knowledgeable technicians. The situation was "resolved" as a "bug" to
be corrected in Windows XP Service Pack 3, as I was told. I asked,
"Microsoft is working on a development of Windows XP Service Pack 3,
while furiously developing Vista?!?" He responded, "Yes." I asked,
"When is this Service Pack 3 scheduled to be released?" He said, "Soon."
I asked, "How soon? Give me a specific date." He said, "In a month."

Am I supposed to be holding my breath for this SP3? Has anyone heard of
this SP3?

SP3 for Windows XP Home Edition is currently planned for 1H CY2008. This
date is preliminary.
