Can anyone explain to me why after installing SP2 I can
no longer access msconfig? When trying to access it, it
appears for a brief moment and then disappears.

SP2 scrambles one of it's OS's own internal applets?

This stuff (reading about sp2 problems) just gets better and better.

This one is right up there with the guy that could only print from within Word after his sp2 install - NO printing from any other place/source.

Imagine a list of all the absolute goofy problems that sp2 installs have created. Imagine presenting that list to Microsoft a week before the release of sp2. Imagine the name calling, rejection and overt hostility and distain that would have eminated from Redmond!

But, alas, the list is growing.

This may have nothing to do with the installation of SP2.

The type of behavior you describe is typical behavior of more than
one virus/worm, the three below being the most common:

W32.Klez

W32.Yaha
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

W32.Spybot.Worm
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.spybot.worm.html

Because many of the newer viruses and worms, such as the
Spybot mentioned above, can disable antivirus applications whose
definitions aren't kept up-to-date, try using one or more of the free
on-line scanners to double-check your system.

Trend Micro - Free online virus Scan

McAfee Security - FreeScan

It is a virus. Has nothing to do with SP2. What is goofy is all your
posts.

Since I installed SP2, the stylus on my etch-a sketch seems to have
dulled

and the output on the pad is no longer consistent.

Knowing what caused the problem, I uninstalled SP2 - but the
etch-a-sketch

still didn't work correctly. I got so mad I stomped my foot which woke
my

dog unexpectedly. He got pissed and ran after the cat. In his
excitement, my

dog ran into the wall and broke his neck.

I feel Microsoft owes me a new cat, as she died from a broken heart
after

the loss of her longtime companion.

Can't Microsoft do anything right?
