Windows XP SP2 and missing hard drive

I installed the Windows XP SP2 update and now my computer
does not recognize that I have a second hard drive,
except in the device manager. I cannot access any files
from it, as it does not show up on my computer. I
uninstalled it from the Device Manager and restarted the
computer, the the condition is the same. Any ideas?
 
Right click on My Computer, click Manage, click Disk Management and see
if you can assign the second drive a letter. Also, try updating your
motherboard drivers to make sure it isn't anything wrong with that ;)
