Windows XP - slow log on "applying personal settings"

G

Georg

XP Pro logs on to Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Servers
with the same problem: Getting thru "applying personal
settings" screen takes over 1 minute.

How can we speed that up.

Thanks a bunch - Georg

Try going to the run command and type msconfig and click
OK. Choose a diagnostic startup. click OK and reboot. If
your startup is much faster you have too much stuff
loading durning startup. go back to msconfig, change it
back to normal startup. Go to the startup tab and try
disabling items you may not need.
