Windows XP shutdown

My laptop runs on Windows XP and continuously shutsdown
when I'm connected to the internet.
A message appears saying 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
terminated'. The sysem then shutsdown after counting down
from 1 minute.

Anyone help.
