Since installing Windows XP I have experienced a number
of problems - latest is that when I try to shut down
windows I get a positive response to the effect that
windows is about to shut down - but it does not - it
freezes with even the mouse pointer fixed in stationary
position.
Troubleshooter tells me to use system restore and revert
to position before latest programs were installed - I am
reluctant as I have installed drivers for my scanner and
printer which took more than 80 minutes on a 56k modem
and do not want to lose them.

Can anyone help?
